Olivia Rodrigo is not afraid to spill some blood. The 20-year-old pop sensation performed her Guts single ‘Vampire’ at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday, with fake blood pouring from her arm and the stage backdrop.
Wearing a red silk gown and matching lipstick, Rodrigo sang the emotional ballad with a live band and a string section, as she expressed her heartbreak over a toxic relationship.
“I used to think I was smart, but you made me look so naive/ The way you sold me for parts as you sunk your teeth into me, you’re a/ Bloodsucker, dream crusher/ Bleeding me dry like a…damn vampire,” she belted out in the chorus.
Even Taylor Swift, who was rumored to be in a feud with her over the song “The Grudge”, was among those who gave her a standing ovation after her performance.
Olivia Rodrigo was nominated for six Grammys this year, with ‘Vampire’ receiving three nods (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance), and ‘Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl’ picking up Best Rock Song. Guts rounded out her nominations with Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
