Lala Kent has some exciting news to share: she’s pregnant with her second child! The Vanderpump Rules star, 33, made the announcement on Instagram on Sunday, with a sweet photo of her and her daughter, Ocean, 2, who she shares with ex Randall Emmett.
In the black-and-white picture, Lala shows off her baby bump as she stands next to Ocean, who smiles up at her. She captioned the post, “I’m expanding my pod,” and added that there will be “a new addition to my little family” soon.
She also tagged Mary Ruth Organics, a brand of vitamins and supplements, and wrote, “A @maryruthorganics cheers to a new addition to my little family.” In a second photo, Lala and Ocean pose with two bottles of the products on a counter.
The reality star has been open about her desire to have more children, and in January, she told PEOPLE that she was on a fertility journey to give Ocean a sibling. She say,
“I think Ocean is going to freak out when another baby comes into the mix because she’s obsessed with babies and I think she’s going to be extremely hands-on,”
She also revealed that she was “into the journey” and that she was “hauling ass full-steam ahead.” Later, she told Cosmopolitan that she had started the process of conceiving a second baby via intrauterine insemination (IUI), a treatment where sperm is surgically placed in a uterus to fertilize an egg.
Lala explained that she decided to go with IUI because she wanted to take control of her situation and have another child without depending on a partner. She said she had friends who went through the process but were in “cookie-cutter relationships,” while she was single and using a donor.
“It was such a strange thing that was happening because everyone would tell me, ‘You’re going to find somebody.’ And I got to thinking, ‘Why does my wanting more children need to involve another person?. I will not gamble on me having my child. And I just don’t think that finding a partner and falling in love with someone has anything to do with bringing a child into the world.”
Lala welcomed her first child, Ocean, in 2021, after a difficult pregnancy that involved bleeding, a clot, and bed rest. She said giving birth was “the most amazing thing to ever happen to” her, and that she adored her daughter.
Lala Kent is currently single, after splitting from Randall Emmett, a film producer in the same year Ocean was born. The former couple got engaged in 2018, but never made it down the aisle. They announced their breakup on social media, and Lala said she was “ready to shed” her old identity and start fresh.
