Guardiola Provides Grealish Update Before Manchester Derby

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola hasn’t set a specific time for Jack Grealish’s return after he got injured during the FA Cup match against Luton Town. Grealish, who plays as a winger for City, was back on the field for the first time since he was taken off early in a Champions League game against FC Copenhagen.

Guardiola mentioned after the match that he was worried Grealish might have hurt his groin again, and because of this, he won’t be able to play in our game against Manchester United on Sunday at 3:30 PM (UK time). Guardiola doesn’t think Grealish will be fit to play before the international break later this month.

When asked if Grealish would be ready to play for England, Guardiola said, “No.” He needs to talk to Gareth Southgate, the England coach, but he thinks Grealish won’t be ready.

Grealish seemed very disappointed when he had to leave the game and his teammates on the bench comforted him. But Guardiola believes that Grealish is strong enough to handle this setback.

The Manchester derby marks the beginning of a busy month for City, with matches against Liverpool, Arsenal, FC Copenhagen in the Champions League, and Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Despite the busy schedule, Guardiola is happy that the team has five days to prepare for the game against Erik ten Hag’s team. He praised the players for their performance in the 6-2 win against Luton, especially because they had only a few days to recover from the previous game against Bournemouth.

Guardiola mentioned that having five days between games is great because it gives the players enough time to rest and prepare. He also highlighted that the players did exceptionally well against Luton, showing their determination and skill. Now, they have two days off to rest before focusing on the game against United.
