Parents of Courtney Clenney Charged with Evidence Tampering in Murder Case

The parents of Courtney Clenney, an OnlyFans model who is facing a second-degree murder charge for killing her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, in their Miami apartment, were arrested on Tuesday in Austin, Texas.

Kim and Deborah Clenney are accused of unauthorized access to a computer, a felony offense in Florida, after they allegedly attempted to guess the password of Obumseli’s laptop, which was left at the crime scene.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by NBC News, the Clenneys and one of their lawyers, Frank Prieto, engaged in a group chat conversation discussing Obumseli’s possible passwords and the transfer of the laptop from their possession. The laptop contained evidence relevant to the murder investigation, such as photos, videos, messages, and browsing history.

The warrant also stated that many of the deceased’s belongings were taken from the condo after his death, and that the Clenneys had access to the apartment and the keys.

They were arrested by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, based on an out-of-state warrant issued by the Miami-Dade County Police Department.

Courtney Clenney, 27, who goes by Courtney Tailor on social media, was arrested in Hawaii and extradited to Florida, where she is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She is accused of stabbing Obumseli, 28, on April 3rd, 2022, at their One Paraíso Condo in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood.

She allegedly confessed to the crime and claimed it was in self-defense, after Obumseli attacked her during an argument.

However, the prosecution argued that Clenney was the aggressor and that she had a history of domestic violence against Obumseli, who was her live-in boyfriend of two years.

Her trial was scheduled to begin on Nov. 16th, 2023, but it was postponed to Dec. 15th, 2023, after her defense filed a motion to suppress “illegal recordings” being used as evidence against her. Her attorney, Shawn Holley, said that the recordings were obtained without Clenney’s consent and that they violated her privacy rights.

Courtney Clenney’s case is one of the most high-profile ones involving an OnlyFans model, a platform that allows users to mostly sell and buy adult content online. She has over 1.6 million followers on Instagram, 200,000+ subscribers on OnlyFans, and was earning up to $200,000 a month from her online activities, according to court documents.
