Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have made a $200,000 donation to the families of the victims of the Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting.
The shooting, which occurred on February 14th, left one person dead and 22 others injured, as thousands of people gathered to celebrate the Chiefs’ back-to-back Super Bowl win.
Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page set up for the family of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, a mother-of-two and a local radio host who was killed in the mass shooting.
She made two separate donations of $50,000 and wrote:
“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift”.
Travis Kelce matched Swift’s donation by giving $100,000 to another GoFundMe page, raising money for the Reyes family and their two daughters aged 10 and 8, who were shot at the parade. He made his donation through his charity, Eighty-Seven & Running.
Both donations helped the families achieve their fundraising goals, which will provide vital financial support for their medical bills, funeral expenses, and emotional recovery.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been dating since last year, and have been making headlines for their whirlwind romance. They attended the Super Bowl together, where Kelce claimed victory against the San Francisco 49ers.
