Road House, the 1989 film that became a cult classic for its mix of martial arts, romance, and humor, is getting a new version with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and MMA.
The remake, directed by Doug Liman, stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton, a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that the place is run by a corrupt businessman and his henchmen. Among them is Conor McGregor, who makes his feature film debut as Dalton’s nemesis, a ruthless and charismatic villain.
The first trailer for Road House, which dropped on Thursday, gives a glimpse of the action-packed plot. It follows Dalton as he tries to clean up the roadhouse and protect its owner, Frankie, played by Jessica Williams. Along the way, he faces off with McGregor and his crew, who are not happy with his interference.
The trailer also shows some of the other characters in the film, such as Daniella Melchior as Ellie and Billy Magnussen as Ben Brandt.
Road House is set to be released globally on March 21st on Prime Video.
