Tupac’s Siblings Remain Unsatisfied After Keefe D’s Arrest Calls For More Arrests

Authorities in Las Vegas finally detained one of the drivers who opened fire on Tupac Shakur’s black BMW over 30 years ago this past Friday. One of the most important moments in the history of hip-hop culture occurred when the iconic rapper was shot and killed in Las Vegas. Why there hadn’t been any arrests of those responsible for killing Tupac Shakur was a topic of discussion for many years.

Following last Friday’s news, the late rapper’s siblings agreed to an interview with TMZ.

Tupac Shakur’s brother Mopreme is extremely dissatisfied with this outcome because he feels there are more persons involved in his brother’s death. The Las Vegas Police Department said they are charging Duane Keith ‘Keefe D’ as the mastermind behind Tupac Shakur’s murder.

Mopreme claims that while the arrest seemed to be the end of the matter, it actually brought back all of his earlier trauma. For decades, Tupac’s family members have lamented the loss of a legend without receiving any sort of payback. A single arrest won’t change the numerous conspiracy theories that have been put up over the years in relation to the murder.

Mopreme believes there were further parties engaged in this crime, and he wants the police to intensify their inquiry to identify all those responsible for his brother’s death. After being charged with one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and a gang enhancement by a grand jury, Keefe D was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Sister Sekyiwa Shakur does find some solace in Keefe D’s arrest too. She wrote: “This is no doubt a pivotal moment. The silence of the past 27 years surrounding this case has spoken loudly in our community. It’s important to me that the world, the country, the justice system, and our people acknowledge the gravity of the passing of this man, my brother, my mother’s son, my father’s son.

His life and death matters, and should not go unsolved or unrecognized, so yes, today is a victory but I will reserve judgment until all the facts and legal proceedings are complete. There have been multiple hands involved and there remains so much surrounding the life and death of my brother Tupac and our Shakur family overall. We are seeking real justice, on all fronts.”
