Kacey Musgraves made her third appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live on March 2. The country star performed two songs from her forthcoming album, Deeper Well, which will be released on March 15.
Musgraves, who wore a patchwork dress and went barefoot, started with the title track of her new album. She sang the emotional ballad with her guitar, while the stage was lit with blue and purple lights. The song is about finding strength and healing in the face of adversity.
For her second song, she changed into a blue gown and sang “Too Good to Be True”, a romantic tune with a retro vibe, accompanied by her band. The song is about falling in love with someone who seems perfect, but also too good to be true.
Kacey Musgraves previously performed on SNL in May 2018 and October 2021. She is a seven-time Grammy winner, and her last album, Star-Crossed, was released in 2021.
Musgraves said that her new album, Deeper Well, was inspired by the energy of New York City’s Greenwich Village, where she recorded it at the legendary Electric Lady studios. The album will feature songs that capture the “moments of life that often go unnoticed, turning them into timeless songs that strike a chord deep within listeners.”
