Davis (toe) will be inactive for Monday’s game against the Eagles.
Davis was only able to participate in a few of the last week’s three workouts, but he will now miss his second straight game. With Davis sidelined, Christian Izien, who had four tackles and an interception in Week 2’s game against the Bears, is anticipated to start at strong safety.
Davis (toe) participated in practice only partially on Thursday.
Davis made a positive move on Thursday after missing Week 2 due to a toe ailment. Two more chances remain for the seasoned cornerback to participate in a full practice before Monday’s game against the Eagles.
Davis was a limited participant in all three practice sessions earlier this week and was ruled out for the Bucs’ 27-17 victory over the Bears on Sunday. If Davis is ruled out for Week 3, anticipate Christian Izien, who had the game-winning interception along with three stops on Sunday, to take on a heavier role.
