Billy Miller, who worked on The Young and the Restless and won three Daytime Emmy Awards before switching to General Hospital, has reportedly passed away at the age of 43.
No cause of death has been given, however, Michael Fairman TV reported the news on Saturday, September 16, citing a source who claimed the actor passed away a day earlier and two days before his 44th birthday.
Miller’s involvement in the Los Angeles company The Belmont, which also confirmed the death of the soap opera star, is added by Michael Fairman TV.
Miller made his Hollywood debut in 2006 as a guest star on CSI: NY. From 2007 to 2008, he played Richie Novak on the ABC soap opera All My Children.
The native of Oklahoma began appearing on The Young and the Restless in 2008, as Billy Abbott. He received three Supporting Actor in a Drama Series nominations from the Daytime Emmys for his work on the CBS series, winning twice, and two Lead Actor in a Drama Series nominations, winning once.
Miller replaced Steve Burton in the role of Jason Morgan on General Hospital in 2014, and for that performance on the ABC soap opera, he was nominated for a Lead Actor Daytime Emmy. Miller’s interpretation of the role was later revealed to be Drew Cain, Jason’s twin brother, when Burton made his 2017 comeback as Jason.
But Miller wasn’t only a staple of daytime TV. Additionally, he appeared frequently in the hit TV shows Ringer, Ray Donovan, and Suits. And in 2014’s Academy Award-nominated picture American Sniper, he appeared alongside Bradley Cooper on the big screen.
Miller has most recently appeared in the Apple TV+ drama Truth Be Told as Alex Dunn, the husband of one of Lizzy Caplan’s twin characters, and in guest roles on The Rookie and NCIS.
