Taylor Swift Brings “Eras Tour” To Movie Theater Starting In October

According to a Thursday morning Instagram post by the singer, Taylor Swift will begin her “Eras Tour” in a theater near you in October.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” the “Anti-Hero” singer wrote, adding that starting on October 13, the “concert film” is coming to theaters in North America – and tickets are already on sale.

“Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged,” Swift added, before quoting a special chant from her popular “Reputation” era song “Delicate” that’s become a custom at each “Eras” show.

She made the revelation along with the teaser for the concert movie, which was recorded at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles during her six-night residency there earlier this month to close out the home part of her tour.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film” will play in AMC Theaters on their IMAX screens, and will run at least four showtimes per day in the United States, Canada and Mexico on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, according to a news release.

Sam Wrench, who is recognized for helming past significant live events and concert films for artists like Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and Jennifer Lopez’s “Halftime” Netflix doc, has helmed the two hours and 45-minute long movie.

Due to the large number of ticket buyers when the “Eras” tour originally went on sale in the fall, Ticketmaster crashed. The theater chain has “upgraded its website and ticketing engines” to manage the rush, according to AMC, who also included this in its news release.

“Not only did it shatter all concert sales records, it also left tens of millions of adoring fans wanting more, either because they attended the concert and wanted to see it again, or after being unable to obtain tickets for sold out performance after sold out performance after sold out performance,” the AMC announcement states.

Swift’s record-breaking “Eras” tour, her first since 2018, has been underway since March. She has been credited for helping local economies in the US along the way, and her tour is on pace to become the most successful one ever. The release of the “Eras” tour concert movie will probably be welcomed news for the beleaguered movie theater business, which has been hurt by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The singer of “Blank Space” is currently in Argentina as part of her international “Eras” tour.

AMCtheaters.com is currently taking orders for “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film” tickets.
