Sporting CP vs Atalanta: Expected Line-ups

In today’s Europa League match, Atalanta faces Sporting CP, and Gianluca Scamacca is likely to lead Atalanta’s attack instead of Charles De Ketelaere.

The game starts at 5:45 PM GMT. This isn’t the first time these teams meet; they already played against each other during the group stage, where Atalanta performed well with one away win and a draw at home.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has a full team available, but he might make some changes to the lineup for today’s match in Portugal. It’s expected that Juan Musso will replace Marco Carnesecchi as the goalkeeper. Isak Hien is likely to play in defense instead of Berat Djimsiti. Emil Holm will return as a right wing-back, and Ederson will start in central midfield after resting partially in the previous game against Bologna.

There’s some uncertainty in the attack, where Gianluca Scamacca is favored over Charles De Ketelaere. Teun Koopmeiners is expected to play as an attacking midfielder, but Aleksei Miranchuk could also be an option for Gasperini.

Here are the expected line-ups for both teams:

Sporting CP (3-4-3):

  • Franco Israel (Goalkeeper)
  • Quaresma, Coates, Reis (Defenders)
  • Genny Catamo, Hjulmand, Morita, Nuno Santos (Midfielders)
  • Edwards, Gyokeres, Trincao (Forwards)

Atalanta (3-4-2-1):

  • Musso (Goalkeeper)
  • Scalvini, Hien, Kolasinac (Defenders)
  • Holm, De Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri (Midfielders)
  • Koopmeiners, Lookman (Attacking Midfielders)
  • Scamacca (Forward)
