Prepare to be hunted by perfected xenomorphic terror. The first bone-chilling teaser trailer for Alien: Romulus has arrived, providing a glimpse into producer Ridley Scott’s latest installment in the iconic sci-fi horror franchise he launched many years ago.
Directed by Fede Alvarez from a script he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues, Romulus takes the Alien mythology back to its roots – the deep, derelict recesses of space where the deadliest beings in the universe lie in wait. When a group of young space colonists stumble upon an abandoned station during a scavenging mission, they rapidly find themselves stalked by the franchise’s signature extraterrestrial threat.
The teaser seamlessly meshes the dread-inducing atmosphere and design that made the original 1979 Alien a masterpiece of tension and horror. Leading the ensemble cast are Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu as the ill-fated explorers who find their colony mission turning into a nightmarish fight for survival. Alien: Romulus reunites Scott with the characters he first brought to startling life over two decades ago from the minds of Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. The famed director returns as a producer alongside Michael Pruss, Walter Hill, and the director himself, who earns a producer credit after proving his horror bona fides with brutal chillers like Don’t Breathe and the Evil Dead remake.
