This Is Me… Now: Jennifer Lopez’s Very Own Love Letter to Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez has always been a master of reinvention. From her humble beginnings as a dancer on In Living Color, to her breakthrough role as Selena, to her global domination as a pop star, actress, and entrepreneur, Lopez has never stopped evolving and surprising her fans.

But perhaps her most unexpected and daring move was reuniting with her former fiancé Ben Affleck in 2022, after nearly two decades apart. The couple, who were once dubbed “Bennifer” by the media, reignited their romance and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 2023.

Their love story inspired the singer/actress to create her most personal and ambitious project yet: This Is Me… Now.

This Is Me… Now is a three-part project that documents her love life, reunion with Affleck, and search for love. It consists of a musical film, a studio album, and a behind-the-scenes documentary.

It is co-written by Lopez, Affleck, Dave Meyers, and Chris Shafer, and directed by Meyers, who is known for his visionary music videos for artists like Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande.

The film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, features Jennifer Lopez as herself, Ben Affleck as her lover, and Sofia Vergara as her best friend. It also includes a cast of celebrity friends and peers, such as Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, and more, who play different roles in her journey.

It is accompanied by Lopez’s ninth studio album of the same name, which contains 12 songs that serve as the soundtrack for the film. The album was preceded by the lead single, “Can’t Get Enough”, which samples Alton Ellis’s 1967 song “I’m Still in Love with You”.

The song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spawned an official remix featuring rapper Latto. The album also includes the title track, which was performed live for the first time on Saturday Night Live on February 3rd, 2024.
