Lewis Hamilton Shocks F1 World with Ferrari Move for 2025 Season

Lewis Hamilton, the most successful driver in Formula 1 history, will be leaving Mercedes after his contract expires and join Ferrari for the 2025 season.

The move, which has been confirmed by both teams, will end Hamilton’s 11-year partnership with Mercedes, and will see him team up with Charles Leclerc at the Italian outfit.

The 39 year old who has won a record-equalling seven world championships and a record-breaking 103 races, said that he was ready for a new challenge and that he had always dreamed of driving for Ferrari.

Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes was due to expire at the end of 2025, but he decided to activate a clause that allowed him to leave a year earlier.

His move to Ferrari will end one of the most dominant eras in F1 history, as he and Mercedes have won every drivers’ and constructors’ title since 2014, except for 2021 and 2022, when they were beaten by Red Bull and Max Verstappen.
