Eric Roberts, 67, has opened up about his daughter Emma Roberts, 32, who is a successful actress and a mother of a one-year-old son.
In an interview with Page Six, Eric said that Emma is his “first and biggest fan” and that she gave him his “first guitar and taught me how to love music”. He also said that she is “always there for me, cheering me on, no matter what” and that she is a “beautiful and remarkable woman”.
He added that he loves watching her acting career and that his favorite movie of hers is ‘Maybe I Do’, a 2023 rom-com where she plays a wedding planner who falls in love with a groom-to-be.
He said, “It’s my favorite so far. She’s so funny and charming and sweet in it. She’s a natural.”
Emma Roberts followed in her father’s footsteps and became an actress at a young age. She made her film debut in 2001’s Blow, where she played the daughter of Johnny Depp’s character. She then starred in several teen movies, such as Aquamarine, Nancy Drew, and Wild Child. She rose to fame with her role as Addie Singer in the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous, which earned her several awards and nominations.
She later transitioned to more adult roles, such as Chanel Oberlin in the horror-comedy series Scream Queens, and various characters in the anthology series American Horror Story. She has also appeared in films such as We’re the Millers, Nerve, The Art of Getting By, and The Hunt.
Emma Roberts is also a mother to a son, Rhodes, who was born in December 2020. She shares him with her ex-boyfriend, actor Garrett Hedlund, whom she reportedly split from in January 2022.
Eric said that he loves being a grandfather to Rhodes and that he often visits him and Emma. He said,
“He’s such a cute and smart kid. He’s already walking and talking and playing. He loves music, just like his mom and me. He’s a joy to be around.
Eric is also a stepfather to two children, Keaton and Morgan, from his marriage to actress Eliza Roberts. He has four grandchildren in total, including Rhodes. He said that being a grandfather is his “favorite job on the planet” and that he likes to play with them and make them laugh.
