Ayo Edebiri Jokes About Her Past Jabs at Jennifer Lopez on SNL

Ayo Edebiri had to face the music when she hosted Saturday Night Live with Jennifer Lopez as the musical guest. The Emmy-winning actress and comedian, who previously made some harsh comments about Lopez’s singing abilities on a podcast, addressed the controversy in a hilarious sketch.

In a game show sketch called “Why’d You Post That?” Edebiri played a contestant who had to answer for her rude social media posts, while Kenan Thompson played the host who grilled her.

The Bear actress seemingly couldn’t handle it anymore and quickly said,

“We get it. It’s wrong to leave mean comments or post comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact because you’re 24 and stupid. But I think I speak for everyone when I say from now on, we’re going to be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online.”

This was in reference to a 2020 episode of the”Scam Goddess” podcast which she was featured in. The host Laci Mosley had called Jennifer Lopez’s whole career a “long scam,” and Edibiri responded with,

“I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs,”

Jennifer Lopez is an American singer and actress who is known for her pop and Latin music, as well as her roles in films such as Selena, The Wedding Planner, and Hustlers. She is also a businesswoman, producer, and judge on various shows.

Although she has been attacked for her singing on multiple occasions, she often says that it doesn’t weigh her down. So maybe the SNL episode with Jennifer Lopez and Ayo Edibiri may actually be free of bad blood.
