Manchester United May Sign Benzema This January

France Legend Karim Benzema may be moving to Premier League side Manchester United as he is set to leave Saudi this January.

Manchester United are currently struggling in the top English league and they need results fast.

Benzema ended his 14-year spell with Real Madrid last June to sign a three-year deal reportedly worth £86 million a season with the Saudi Pro League side.

Benzema failed to show up for the start of Al-Ittihad’s pre-season campaign last Friday.

Head coach Marcelo Gallardo has ordered Benzema not to join up with his teammates, leaving the player’s future in doubt. It seems he may have made up his mind.

The Red Devils will have to fend off interest from Benzema’s former employers, with Lyon and Real Madrid both keen on their loan deal for the striker.

Ten Hag’s current first-choice striker is Rasmus Hojlund, who was signed from Atalanta in a £72m deal over the summer. Anthony Martial may be leaving the Red Devils in the summer so the United head coach is looking for another striker to help Hojlund.

The Danish striker has only scored two goals since he started playing for Manchester United.

Benzema became one of the world’s best strikers during his time at Madrid, notching 354 goals in 648 games for Los Blancos and helping them to win five Champions Leagues, four La Liga titles, and three Copa del Reys, among plenty of other silverware.
