After scoring three goals in a convincing victory, Vitinha, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Lee Kang-in gave Luis Enrique’s PSG a much-needed boost.

PSG, the defending champions, now leads Nice by two points.

“What I see is positive, the objective is to continue to be effective in each match and improve,” said coach Luis Enrique.

“I undoubtedly saw at the Parc des Princes this evening one of the most beautiful PSG performances (since the start of the season).”

Ten minutes in, Lee scored the first goal and caused excitement with a left-footed effort into the top corner after Kylian Mbappe set him up with a deft dummy.

“He is very likeable for any supporter,” Luis Enrique said of South Korean international Lee.

“He is young, makes an effort in attack and defence, makes very good decisions and is hungry to play.”

Strong defense played a major role in keeping Mbappe quiet ahead of PSG’s Champions League trip to AC Milan in midweek.

Zaire-Emery made it 2-0 just before the hour mark after Dembele’s backheel left the 17-year-old in space on the edge of the six-yard box for a calm finish.

Goalie Benjamin Lecomte dived just too late as substitute Vitinha scored with nearly his first touch, smashing home from the edge of the area.

On minute 26, Dembele himself came dangerously close, and Mbappe, who scored goals for the team for the 250th and 251st times respectively, wasted a subsequent corner kick.

Mbappe gave a begrudging nod late in the game, but he was so far off-target that he looked embarrassed as he left.

After defeating the Italians last week, PSG’s European campaign began with a 2-0 victory at home against Borussia Dortmund. Despite the setback, PSG leads Group F with six points heading into their Champions League trip to Milan.

A week after OM fans pelted the Lyon bus with heavy objects, one of which seriously injured Lyon coach Fabio Grosso’s face, forcing the game to be called off, all eyes will be on Marseille’s match against Lille this Saturday.

Sunday’s match between third-place Monaco and Brest gives Nice the chance to reclaim the top spot in the league.
