UAW Leader Slams Trump Ahead Of His Campaign

President of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Shawn Fain has publicly denounced former President Donald Trump ahead of his visit next week to Detroit as part of a plea to current and former union members.

“Every fiber of our union is being poured into fighting the billionaire class and an economy that enriches people like Donald Trump at the expense of workers,” UAW President Shawn Fain said in an emailed statement.

“We can’t keep electing billionaires and millionaires that don’t have any understanding what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck and struggle to get by and expecting them to solve the problems of the working class.”

According to local polls, most of the Union members are rooting for the republicans, but probably not Donald Trump.

Trump has criticized the Union president, Fain, a number of times, and he has also told the union to stop the transition to EV motors which take less time to assemble, a most of them may lose their jobs.

But Fain has made the transition to EVs one of the primary points of contention with the Big Three automakers.

Biden, meanwhile, has called on major American automakers to improve their offer to workers, saying he “respected” workers’ right to strike.

He has also talked about the protest, telling the union that he is with them.
