Republican presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott has revealed one or two details about his “Christian” girlfriend.
“I’m dating a lovely Christian girl,” the South Carolina senator told Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird when asked at the Faith and Freedom Coalition in Des Moines Saturday.
“One of the things I love about the gospel of Jesus Christ is it points us always in the right direction. Proverbs 18:22 says, ‘He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord,’” Scott continued.
“So can we just pray together for me,” he added to laughter from the crowd.
Bird had asked Scott, 57, “Other than your mama, is there any special lady in your life?”
“Yes. If you haven’t read about her yet, I’m not sure why not,” Scott answered.
But Scott’s campaign has declined to divulge her name or organize an off-the-record chat with her. So, not many people have met this mysterious girlfriend.
The only person who claimed to have met her is his 2024 campaign manager Jennifer DeCasper, who claims to have hung with the mystery woman at the zoo.
At the moment, he is the only major contender on either side that has never been married. It’s been over 139 years since an unmarried man ascended to the Oval Office.
Scott is currently sitting in seventh place with 2.5% support in the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate of polls.
