King Charles III Celebrates 1 Year Reign Since Queen Elizabeth II's Death

British ruler, King Charles III has celebrated a one-year reign since the death of the British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II who ruled for 70 years.

The late monarch who was crowned when she was only 26 died peacefully at the age of 96 at her Balmoral bolt hole on September 8 last year.

King Charles is currently in Balmoral, the dear royal property in Aberdeenshire where his mother spent the summer break annually.

This Friday also marks the first anniversary of the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles had recorded a short message, paying tribute to his mother.

“In marking the first anniversary of Her Late Majesty’s death and my accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service, and all she meant to so many of us,” the King said.

“I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all.”

The anniversary of the late Queen’s death brings the transition period to an end and begins the Carolean era in earnest.

Alongside the audio message, Charles released a favorite photograph of his mother taken by Cecil Beaton in 1968, which has only previously been seen in an exhibition. It shows the Queen, then aged 42, dressed in her Garter robes standing sideways and smiling.
