Arsenal would go against Manchester City who were the treble winners last season for the community shield clash. Manchester City won the champions League against Inter Milan, they also won the FA Cup against Manchester United, and the Premier League title.
The rivalry between Manchester City and Arsenal really came into play last season as both clubs were closely vying for the Premier League Title.
Arsenal were on top for the most of the season with Manchester City and Manchester United following closely behind. But towards the end of the season, there was some slip-ups from the gunners and it caused them the Premier League title.
Since Manchester City won the cup against Manchester United, they are to play against the runners-up of last season. The community shield will be played on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 4pm.
Last year’s fixture was won by Liverpool, who beat Manchester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.
This year’s match would be played in Wembley Stadium.
