Jordan Spieth’s Scorecard Error Costs Him a Shot at the Genesis Invitational

Jordan Spieth, the former world number one golfer and three-time major champion, has been disqualified from the 2024 Genesis Invitational for signing an incorrect scorecard on Friday.

Spieth was already in contention after the first round and made a costly mistake on the par-3 fourth hole, where he signed for a 3 instead of a 4.

He was notified of his error after completing his second round, and was subsequently removed from the tournament.

Jordan Spieth apologized for his blunder on his X account, formerly known as Twitter. He wrote,

“Today, I signed for an incorrect scorecard and stepped out of the scoring area…..Rules are rules, and I take full responsibility.”

The disqualification is a setback for the professional golfer, who last won a PGA Tour event at the 2022 RBC Heritage.
