Michelle Troconis convicted: Aiding cover-up in Connecticut murder trial

Michelle Troconis has been found guilty of all charges related to the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos, her boyfriend’s estranged wife.

Troconis was convicted of planning to commit murder, hiding evidence, helping to hide evidence, and obstructing the investigation.

Carrie Luft, a spokesperson for Jennifer Dulos’ family and friends, expressed their sadness over the verdict. She said that the verdict shows how much effort went into gathering evidence against Troconis. However, Jennifer Dulos has still not been found, and they hope that renewed public interest in the case might lead to new information.

Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five from Connecticut, went missing on May 24, 2019, during a custody battle with her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos. Although her body has not been found, she was declared legally dead by a judge.

Fotis Dulos died by suicide in January 2020, after being charged with Jennifer Dulos’ murder. Prosecutors believe he killed her in her garage on May 24, 2019. During Troconis’ trial, the jury saw a video where Troconis admitted lying about seeing Fotis Dulos at their home on the morning Jennifer Dulos vanished.

Troconis said in the video that she had no idea where Jennifer was and that she only went to help Fotis clean the house because he asked her to. She also mentioned that Fotis hated Jennifer and called her a monster.

Police testified that surveillance footage showed Fotis driving with Troconis in Hartford later that day, stopping to throw away evidence in trash cans. The evidence included zip ties, gloves, and stained clothing.

Troconis’ defense attorney argued that she was in the car with Fotis but denied any involvement in or knowledge of his crimes. The prosecutor reminded the jury of the garage where Fotis allegedly killed Jennifer and the blood-stained items found in the trash.

The prosecutor argued that Troconis and Fotis conspired to murder Jennifer because she was in their way. She described how Fotis’ frustration with not seeing his children turned into anger and hatred towards Jennifer. Troconis described Jennifer as manipulative and toxic, even though she had never met her.

The trial focused on proving that Troconis and Fotis worked together to kill Jennifer and cover it up. Despite Troconis’ denial of involvement, the jury found her guilty on all counts. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of justice and the consequences of getting involved in serious crimes.
