Warning: This content contains spoilers of the third season of CBS’ Ghosts
The highly anticipated third season of Ghosts, a beloved CBS sitcom that follows a couple living with a mischievous group of ghosts, premiered on Thursday, February 15th. And let’s just say, it did not disappoint.
If you’ve watched the show and are up-to-date with their last release, you will know that the second season’s final episode left viewers on the edge of their seats. Especially when a bright light shone in the house, suggesting that one of the spirits had been “sucked off” into the afterlife.
However, it was not until the third season’s premiere, titled “The Owl,” that the identity of the departed ghost was finally unveiled.
The episode followed Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) as they tried to figure out which of their ghostly roommates had left them. One by one, the ghosts showed up, except for one: Flower (Sheila Carrasco), the hippie ghost who was dating Thor (Devan Chandler Long), the Viking ghost.
Flower was the one who got sucked off, leaving Thor heartbroken and the rest of the ghosts in shock.
During the episode, we discover the reason for her departure and it involves an unexpected guest – an owl that Sam and Jay had to move from their barn. As it turns out, the owl was actually a spirit animal that leads Flower to the next phase of her journey.
Much praise has been given to the co-showrunners, Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, for adapting the show for the US audience and adding their own creative touches. Ghosts, which is based on the BBC series of the same name, has been a hit for CBS, attracting millions of viewers.
Don’t miss out on the exciting new season airing every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET. And if you can’t tune in live, catch up on all the ghostly adventures by streaming on Paramount+.
