TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday, highlighting various irregularities in the voters’ lists across the State.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Electoral Officer, released to the media, he alleged that the YSR Congress Party is engaging in irregularities, failing to follow the prescribed procedure for voter enrollment, and neglecting necessary changes in the electoral rolls according to the Electoral Manual-2023.
Naidu emphasized that the procedure outlined in the manual for deleting multiple entries is not being adhered to, leading to the existence of double or multiple entries in various constituencies.
He also raised concerns about deceased voters’ names still appearing in the draft electoral rolls without appropriate action taken by the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs).
Additionally, Naidu pointed out a violation of Rule 6 of the Registration of Electors Rule-1960, which dictates that rolls should be arranged according to house numbers.
He noted that this rule is being breached. Furthermore, he expressed dismay over ineligible persons being enrolled through online registration using Form-6, with names of opposition party voters being deleted under the ruling dispensation’s directives.
Naidu expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of attention to these complaints by TDP leaders and highlighted that Bulk Form-7 applications are not being accepted online or directly.
He urged those raising objections to provide necessary evidence and criticized the deletion of names in certain constituencies based solely on names written on white paper without proper inquiry.
