Paraguay’s Diego Gomez To Miss World Cup Qualifier Against Venezuela

paraguay-venezuela

Diego Gomez, a midfielder for Paraguay, has been injured and will not play in Tuesday’s FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Venezuela.

The Paraguayan Football Association announced on Monday that the 20-year-old had a left thigh strain while practicing with the national squad over the weekend, according to Xinhua.

The organization did not announce a stand-in for the Inter Miami player right away.

When they clash in the northeastern Venezuelan city of Maturin, Paraguay and Venezuela will both be going for their first victory in the South American zone qualifying competition.

The Guaranis opened their season with a scoreless draw against Peru at home, while Venezuela lost 1-0 to Colombia on the road last Thursday.
