Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard And Kai Havertz Contribute To Arsenal Win Against Bournemouth

mikel-arteta Arteta Defends Havertz Display Amid Arsenal Fan Frustrations

The winger scored the game’s first goal, while the captain controlled play from midfield, making the superstar duo too smooth for the Cherries.

Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 4-0 while avoiding a potential banana skin on the south coast, barely having to shift out of second gear.

After Gabriel Jesus headed Martin Odegaard’s beautiful cross against the post, Bukayo Saka reacted swiftly in the box to score Arsenal’s opening goal. Eddie Nketiah then scored the second after some deft forward play drew Max Aarons into a sliding challenge in the area and resulted in a penalty. Odegaard converted the penalty kick from 12 yards out, sending Neto the wrong way.

Early in the second half, Odegaard won Arsenal’s second penalty, and Kai Havertz stepped up to convert it for his team’s opening goal. Then, with a strong header in extra time, Ben White added a fourth.

Mikel Arteta will have serious concerns about Saka’s late limping off as the Gunners gear up for a week in which they will play Manchester City in the Premier League and Lens in the Champions League.
