Howie Mandel shows support for Sofa Vergara as she embraces her recent singlehood.
In the most recent live America’s Got Talent episode, Howie, who is 67 years old, joked about Sofa’s 51-year-old divorce from Joe Manganiello and her entry into the singles community.
The situation arose after mentalist and ventriloquist Brynn Cummings performed in which she comically coupled Heidi Klum with a puppet named Lovebird who stood in for a single man.
After the act, Howie praised Brynn’s skills and then jokingly advised her, saying, “I have one more piece of advice for you: if you’re looking for eligible bachelors, you should’ve talked to Sofía because she’s in the market right now.”
Howie’s remark was met with a hearty shout from Sofa and an expressive gesture that showed her disinterest.
Host Terry Crews attempted to step in, advising the judges, “No, we’re not doing that here!”
Heidi, aged 50, also joined in, telling Brynn, “Well, thank you that you picked me. I think I did a fantastic job and so did you.”
Howie’s humorous remark comes amid rumours a few weeks ago that Sofa and Joe, 46, were divorcing after seven years of marriage, as reported by PEOPLE.
