Erling Haaland Hits The Post With Poor Penalty At Sheffield United

Erling Haaland, a goal-scoring machine for Man City, showed his humanity by hitting the post with a penalty kick against Sheffield United.

The Norwegian forward is still a key player for the defending Premier League winners, but at Bramall Lane, he flubbed his lines when given the chance to score from 12 yards out.

When Julian Alvarez tried to cross the ball but John Egan dove in to block it, City had a chance to grab the lead in Sheffield. A penalty was given when the ball struck the Blades defender in the hand.

Haaland took the initiative with assurance and was able to misdirect Wes Foderingham with a well-placed blow. The Premier League Golden Boot winner of the moment, though, was left holding his head in his hands when his strike cannon rebounded against the woodwork and went away to safety.

The freshly promoted Blades repeatedly frustrated City, and the score was even at the break. Last season, Haaland scored 52 goals in all competitions, including a brace against Burnley in his inaugural Premier League game of 2023–24.
